The focus of Vijion Art Gallery lies on regional art – particularly on that of the Val Gardena region. In the wooden sculptures created there, craftsmanship and contemporary spirit merge into innovative forms of expression.

At the Discovery Art Fair Frankfurt, Vijion Art Gallery is delighted to present the artists Mirijam Heiler, Andrea M. Varesco, Josef Kostner, Stefan Perathoner, and Egon Digon. Through the works of these five artists, the gallery seeks to showcase the remarkable diversity of contemporary local art – from two-dimensional to sculptural works – and to highlight the unique artistic vision and fascination of each individual practice.

Josef Kostner explores the process of formation and becoming human in his sculptures. His works embody struggle, rejection, and renewal – each piece a vivid expression of bringing form into being. Every sculpture marks a new beginning, conveying intense emotional energy condensed into affective representations of the human figure.

Egon Digon transforms wood into a material that appears soft and pliable, almost like foam. By breaking the solidity of this rigid substance, he turns it into a dense, viscous mass. Through the compression of geometric shapes, soft biomorphic distortions emerge, evoking both tension and tactile allure.

Mirijam Heiler captivates with the clarity and purity of her compositions. The line is always her point of departure – sometimes precise, sometimes freely flowing. Her works create permeable forms and spaces that lead the viewer’s gaze into an imagined distance.

Andrea M. Varesco unites freedom and emotion within her paintings. With an intuitive sense of color and a powerful gesture, she creates works that radiate energy and vitality. Her paintings possess a distinctive quality: the two-dimensional surface seems to come alive and emanates a palpable presence.

Stefan Perathoner impresses with his masterful technical precision. His perfect command of anatomy serves as the foundation for creating new and intriguing interpretations of the human image – balancing between realistic accuracy and individual artistic vision.
